The Chère Marianne language course is based on the textbook of the same name by Eevi Nivanga and Soili Sutinen, written specifically for Finns. Background information and up-to-date cultural and etiquette knowledge have been added to the online course. The course aims to teach correct French pronunciation and build general language skills and vocabulary so that the learner can express themselves in everyday situations. Students gain the ability to understand easy and even somewhat more demanding texts. The French course covers proficiency levels 1-2 of the general language examination. The course includes 16 chapters with hypertexts. The versatile practice section includes plenty of motivating, interactive exercises, such as structure and vocabulary exercises, listening and reading comprehension exercises, and dictation tasks. The course also introduces French phonetics and spelling as well as the history of the Romance languages. Special attention is paid to French etiquette, which helps you cope in various social situations and conversations with French people.

You can listen to the conversation and practice pronunciation and speaking in the language lab. A translation of the conversation is also included.
