Swedish courses

Level 1 is suitable for those who have studied little or no Swedish. Level 1 introduces the basics of the language as well as its fundamental structures and vocabulary. The courses also practice simple work- and leisure-related situations such as introducing yourself and greeting others, telling the time, dealing with restaurants, and talking about yourself.

The Vem Ringer? (Who's Calling?) Swedish telephone course consists of two parts, basic and intermediate level. Each chapter deals with different phone conversations and includes several short example dialogues. The first part of the course suits students who already have some knowledge of Swedish (levels 1-2). The second part suits those who have completed the first part, as well as students at levels 3-4. The phone conversations in the course are mostly examples of work-related phone situations, but there are also leisure-related conversations, such as calling a travel agency or a dentist. In addition to the dialogues, the course includes a large number of exercises on the chapters' topics.

The Swedish grammar course is suitable for everyone, from beginners to more advanced learners. The grammar consists of the language's "building blocks," which, as the course progresses, give a clear and coherent picture of the basic structures of Swedish. Once these blocks fall into place, it becomes easier to add vocabulary and conversation practice to your learning. The course also makes it easy to refresh old knowledge and polish up existing language skills.

Level 2 continues to introduce the basics of the language as well as its fundamental structures and vocabulary. The Emergency Response Centre Vocabulary course was compiled based on a term bank obtained from the Emergency Response Centre Agency. This vocabulary course includes the vocabulary of four authority functions: rescue services, police, and social and health services. The vocabularies have been recorded in Finland Swedish, and pronunciation can be practiced independently using the language lab. In addition, the vocabulary can be practiced and tested independently using three different methods: a word-recognition task, a translation task, and a listening comprehension task.

Level 3 explores work- and leisure-related situations more broadly, such as handling phone calls, making hotel reservations and travel arrangements, arranging meetings, meeting situations, and presenting a company and talking about your own background.

Swedish Business Communication is a practical and versatile course that includes templates for the most common business documents and other correspondence, such as offers, orders, and invitations, along with plenty of exercises and tests with answers related to the course's subject matter. The course also includes a cultural section describing the differences between Finnish and Swedish corporate culture. The learning material is intended for everyone who wants to learn how to produce modern, stylish, and effective business documents in Swedish. The course is excellent for use in universities of applied sciences and other institutions teaching Swedish business communication, as well as for companies. The course material can be used both for independent study and as part of a suitable Swedish course. The course was produced in cooperation with HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences.

Level 4 focuses on building vocabulary. The chapters contain plenty of both general vocabulary and work-related terminology. Grammar is not forgotten either; the course covers, for example, the passive voice, participle forms, the use of articles, and relative clauses. The activation exercises practice, among other things, expressing personal opinions and using common conversational phrases.

Promentor Säkäri – Electrical Terminology is an online Swedish course covering the key standardized words and terms of the electrical field. The learning material is aimed at electrical industry professionals and students, and is suitable for both independent and guided study. The material is used to practice understanding terms, recognizing words by ear, and pronouncing and writing them correctly.

The PROTOCALL TEKNIKBITEN language course allows you to study technical Swedish. The course is intended for engineering students and technicians studying technical fields, as well as people who need technical Swedish language skills in their work. Completing the course requires basic proficiency in Swedish.
