Promentor's Language Training Solutions for Member Companies of Technology Industries of Finland
Promentor and Technology Industries of Finland have signed a cooperation agreement covering all of Promentor's language training services. Through the cooperation between Technology Industries and Promentor, member companies have the opportunity to significantly improve their language skills. Good language skills streamline foreign trade and facilitate interaction in Finland's increasingly international work communities, where the importance of language skills is highlighted even more.

Customer Service English Course for Legal BBA Students
The Ministry of Justice and Promentor have jointly produced a customer service English course. In spring 2012, the Ministry of Justice set out to renew its language training by relying on modern teaching methods and online learning, and the ministry's staff was involved in designing the training material. The course was built for challenging customer service situations conducted in English over the phone, via email, and face-to-face with customers. The Ministry of Justice requires these skills when recruiting new employees. Online materials can also be utilized by universities of applied sciences that train legal BBA students. Happenings at Suomen Verkko-Opisto…
Follow-up Funding Granted for Suomen Verkko-Opisto Project
Tekes has granted follow-up funding for Suomen Verkko-Opisto, an eleven-partner value network project coordinated by Promentor Solutions Oy. Tekes finances an entity of four companies and seven educational institutions under the Learning Solutions program.
Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, and Nummi-Pusula School joined as new partners, and the project is also open to new partners. An important goal of Suomen Verkko-Opisto is to guarantee equal study opportunities for all citizens, from growth centers to remote villages.
Through cooperation between companies and educational institutions, a distribution channel for digital learning materials is being built, first domestically and later for international markets.

Promentor Cooperates with Adult Education Centres
The pilot online Finnish for foreigners course produced by Promentor and Espoo Adult Education Centre was completed last autumn under the name "Suomi Tutuksi" (Getting to Know Finnish). The problem foreigners face regarding differences between written standard language and spoken colloquial language was resolved by incorporating both forms into the course. With the help of the Suomi Tutuksi course, foreigners can practice spoken language alongside written language: "Minä menen illalla elokuviin – Mä meen illalla leffaan" (I am going to the movies tonight). After completion of the production, a training trial was launched where students attend contact classes and complete homework using the Suomi Tutuksi online language course. Espoo and Helsinki adult education centres and Kouvola adult education college also launched other courses utilizing digital language learning materials, anticipating how students would receive them. The popularity was a positive surprise, and nearly all offered courses commenced.
