Language learning couldn't be easier and more enjoyable. Starting May 20, 2014, HelMet libraries are opening Promentor's high-quality e-language courses to their customers.
A total of 10 different e-language courses are available in English, Swedish, German, Russian, Spanish, and Finnish. The courses are interactive and suitable for independent study.
In Promentor Web, users can study grammar, practice listening comprehension and speaking, as well as complete exercises and tests. The application helps the student, for example, in finding correct word forms.
In the online service, course participants can track their own results and progress.
Courses can be accessed anytime, anywhere, including from home or during a bus commute. Using a language course requires a HelMet library card and an internet connection. E-language courses can be used on all devices, including mobile devices, without a separate app.
Courses offered by HelMet libraries have a limited number of concurrent users.
Using the e-language course is this easy
Logging into the language courses is done using a HelMet library card number and PIN code. The login page is https://www.promentor.fi/pmweb/helmet. The link can also be found in the HelMet e-library. After logging in, the customer must accept the service's terms of use.
Which courses are available?
For English courses, the library has ordered ACTIVE Expert, Who’s Calling?, and the English Irregular Verbs course. For Swedish courses, offerings include Grundkurs and Vem Ringer?. Offerings also include basic courses in German, Russian, and Spanish. For immigrants, two Finnish courses are offered: Finnish on Three Levels and Suomi tutuksi.
The language courses have been implemented by Promentor Solutions Oy in cooperation with language teachers.
